Ryanair and Modlin: A new era of cooperation

A new multi-year agreement

After long negotiations, Ryanair and Warsaw-Modlin Airport signed a new multi-year agreement. This event ends the period of uncertainty and begins a new stage of the airport's development. What does this mean for passengers?

First of all, a significant increase in the number of flights and destinations. Ryanair plans to more than triple passenger traffic in Modlin — from 1.5 million to over 5 million passengers annually by 2030. This will be possible thanks to major investments of $400 million.

New destinations and more aircraft

Already this autumn, Ryanair will delight travelers with three new routes to warm countries. From Modlin, it will be possible to fly to Palermo in Sicily, as well as to Athens (Greece) and Sofia (Bulgaria). Flights to Sofia and Athens will start on November 14, and to Palermo on November 15.

Under the new agreement, Ryanair plans to launch up to 25 new routes, increasing their total number to 60. To handle such a number of flights, the airline will double its fleet in Modlin — from 4 to 8 Boeing 737 aircraft. The first three additional aircraft will appear in Modlin as early as December 2026.

Airport development for your comfort

To meet the growing passenger traffic, the Modlin airport will also undergo major changes. The plans include expanding the terminal, thanks to which 4 new check-in desks will be created (there will be 8 in total) and 4 new aircraft parking spaces (12 in total). These works are expected to be completed by September 2027.

Moreover, the construction of a railway line connecting the airport with Warsaw is planned to be completed by the end of 2027. Thanks to this, getting to the airport will become even more convenient and faster.
