Ryanair increases allowed carry-on baggage from August 2025

New cabin baggage dimensions

From August 1, 2025, Ryanair allows carrying free cabin baggage measuring 40×30×20 cm (previously 40×25×20 cm). The change means an additional approx. 4 liters of capacity, allowing you to pack more things for short trips.

Why are the changes being introduced now?

The decision was announced at the peak of the holiday season, just before the long weekend in mid-August. Thanks to this, passengers traveling from Poland during the period of heaviest traffic can count on more space in their cabin baggage.

Adaptation to EU standards

The increase in baggage dimensions is part of a broader reform aimed at standardizing the rules for carrying baggage on airlines within the European Union. The new size in Ryanair is 20% larger than the minimum EU standard (40×30×15 cm).

Further changes from November 2025

From November 3, 2025, Ryanair will fully transition to digital boarding passes. This means that paper boarding passes will no longer be accepted, and the fee for issuing a new pass at the airport will be abolished.

2. Use the Ryanair mobile app to check in online and download your boarding pass.
